For years, this was never
meant to be a store.
It was a private obsession.
I spent a long time chasing frames most people will never see — sourcing them one pair at a time, across continents, from the people and places the big resellers don't reach. Some came from old opticians clearing their back rooms. Some I pulled from shuttered manufacturing stock, frames that had been sitting in the dark since the lines went quiet. A few spent months in customs, crossing borders before they ever reached my hands. Every one earned its place in the collection.
I held onto these because I loved them — the weight of the metal, hardware that actually moves, the fact that no factory will ever make them again. They're survivors. One-of-ones.
I'm releasing my private collection now because pieces like these are meant to be worn, not stored away. When one finds the right person, it's gone — and the slot closes for good.
Welcome to 858 Vintage.
Wear them well.
